Ministry of Worship
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness. -- Psalm 29:2
Ministry of Discipleship
By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. -- John 15:8
Discipleship Hour (After Service)
We live in an age of information, but there is often little time for deep reflection. Our discipleship class is a time for such reflection.
In this time of discipleship the younger among us learn the basics of the Christian faith in an age appropriate class, but the older children, the tweens, teens and adults have an opportunity to interact with the pastor concerning the sermon or other elements of the worship service. During this time we apply the gospel to our daily lives. This is an important time for the younger to learn the language of faith from the more mature and for the mature to have their faith invigorated by the youthful curiosities of our younger members. This is one good way to do what the author of the book of Hebrews calls, "stirring one another on to love and good deeds."
The ministries of Covenant all exist to draw people into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and each has as its primary purpose to glorify God and to enjoy Him. We commit ourselves to worship God, according to the Scripture, to disciple individuals in holy grace and to serve others in humble love.
